Key information:- Offering users the option to opt out is a recommended practice to ensure a positive experience.
- The Audience list is for informational purposes only and shows unsubscriptions from Marketing template recipients.
- Campaigns sent using Utility and OTP (One-Time Password) templates cannot be linked to this process, as they are sent from a shared number pool.
Opt-out Management in SMS:- The opt-out process in SMS is done automatically when the user submits an unsubscribe request.
- Keywords like “stop,” “unsubscribe,” “cancel,” or “opt-out” can be used to trigger unsubscription.
- Keywords are unlimited but must be single words, not full phrases. Their function is to trigger the opt-out and send a confirmation message.
- For example, if a user replies with “Stop” or “Cancel,” they will be unsubscribed.
- Once opted out, the user will receive a confirmation message like “Your subscription has been successfully canceled.” From that moment on, they will no longer receive messages from the number that sent the communication.
- If the user wants to resubscribe, they must send a specific keyword like “Start” or “Subscribe.”
Important: For SMS, keyword and message configuration must be requested via a Service Request.Explore the section and see some examples in the tour below
