The messaging platform Facebook Messenger can be incorporated as another AgentBot support channel. Find out how to add Facebook Messenger as a customer service channel here
Add Facebook Messenger as a support channel
In this channel, the conversation window will open on the META site, so AgentBot integrates and adapts, respecting the pre-established guidelines of this messaging platform.
This means that the design that will be displayed will be that of the platform and it will not be possible to make any type of customization or change in appearance, such as altering styles, formats, colors, layouts, visualizations, etc.
At the same time, there are other factors to take into account:
- To create this channel, in addition to having a Facebook user, you must have a Fan Page associated with your account.
- Once the channel is linked to AgentBot, the virtual assistant will appear as a regular contact for the users of this platform and they will be able to chat as they do on a daily basis.
- The use of an avatar cannot be implemented.
- It does not interpret the stickers that are sent.
- It does not recognize images attached by the user. When they send an image, they will receive the following message: "Sorry, but we only support messages in text form".
- It does not interpret the "Like".
- No ads can be used: being a reactive channel, this proactivity tool cannot be applied.
- The virtual assistant recognizes and understands audio content in Facebook Messenger (Voice Recognition), transcribes the message sent to text and responds with AgentBot content.
- Plugins are accompanied by standard messages that cannot be modified. An example is the previous message of the button plugin.
- It is not necessary to condition the complements, but you must take into account how they work in this specific channel.
- Facebook Messenger sessions are not closed by clicking the "X" like the session in the AgentBot chat window. A Facebook Messenger session ends when 24 hours of inactivity with the bot have elapsed or if the user has been transferred to human attention.
